A Building Management System
is a system usually deployed in new commercial or goverment buildings.
They are generally accepted to provide between 25 and 40 per cent
savings in energy and carbon emmissions.
The costs though for deployment are usually high and in the order of tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The
BMShome project is attempting to reduce the cost to an order of
hundreds of pounds by introducing a new distributed architecture which
also provides an information resource to energy management
professionals to enhance their effectiveness.
